    Execution or sheriff sales?
    Hello everyone,

I have many charged off credit cards all from the same time, around march of 2003.

They total in around 70 thousand dollars...

Over the past few years, I have received many different notices in the mail for civil court, dates, etc, I never attended any of them thinking it would go away on its own, well they didn't, they in fact turned into no fault civil judgments against me.

Last July I received my first sheriff sale notice on my door, owing $10k to a collection agy, and I called them and they accepted $7k over a 6 month period, which is satisfied.

Last November I received another notice that a judgement wa entered against me, so I called them to see which credit card it was and the original amount to try and settle up, we never agreed to an amount because they wanted like $8k more then the riginal amount, but I never heard from them again till yesterday when the sheriff showed up at my work with a execution notice, now the sheriff nows me by now from all the past letters and stuff, and he was confused why they sent it to my work and not my home, and I told him because that's were I told the agency to send any mail because I no longer live at the address they have in hopes of shaking them, well he said that that my boss can easily stop the sale because the items are not mine, but then he said they will find me and redue the sheriff sale?

On top of this I have about 2 others I know about and I guess they will be sending execution letters soon also.

Is there any way to fight this, I have called many civil lawyers in my area and they all say the best thing is to set up payments and pay them back?

I really do not have $20k sitting around to pay the current sale holders there money, any suggestions or help would be very appreciated.

    Thanks
    Mjk

I think they meant set up payment arrangements, like ask them if you can pay a certain amount per month, call and try to arrange that.
