Apartment rental law with landlords in Kansas
I have an apartment I have been renting for about a year and I have asked for Carpet to be changed and stairs to be fixed and the smoke smell taken out and the owner of the apartment just have me 30 days notice to get out, because I am too much trouble. Can they do that? I just had a baby and I don't know if I can find a place in 30 days.

If you are on a month to month lease then yes he can do it. You can try negotiating with him telling him you are happy to leave, but you need more time. If you can't find a place, you can refuse to leave and force him to start eviction proceedings.
