    As a name brand it will differ from where you are as to where I am, but just look for the thickness of the better stuff will be thicker it will also lock better as well.
    We use certianteed siding from lyftm builders

    As glanive said, the brands will vary widely depending on your location. The big box stores (Lowes, Home Depot) will have a stock type and at least one upgrade type. The thickness is a quick way to determine the better type. A normal stock thickness will be 0.038" to 0.040". Premium will be 0.044" to 0.048". Some siding manufacturers have an insulating backing. This is a very premium type and a bit hard to find.
