    Bleeding gums?
My sweet lil' 1 year old black lab Annie has finally started playing with toys! I got her a rope toy from petco, and I noticed right as she started shewing on it there was little bits of blood where she was bitting. I checked her gum and they were red like they'd been bleeding a little. Is this because the rope toy could be acting like floss, and irritating her gums? Should I be concerned?

It is great she is working on some toys. Pet store ropes don't hold up well to most Labs, and may be being pulled down into her gums.

    Ones I made
Lasted much better. Go to a hardware or home center that sells rope by the
Foot. Buy 2' of 3/4" poly rope. Melt the ends, and tie knots in it. Get
Them as tight as possible, put it in a vise and pound it with a hammer. Watch
Carefully, and be ready to discard when it comes apart.
