    A D&C means dilatation and curettage which they have to do if there are retained products of conception after a miscarriage - have you been told you need one? Hope you don't mind me asking.:)

I just found out yesterday that I am 10 1/2 weeks pregnant and we searched for a heartbeat and there was no activity my doctor said that if it does not come out on it's own I will have to have a DNC procedure. Now I have never had this done. How is it done? Is very painful and how necessary is it?

Has anybody had a miscarriage? If so am I supposed to go and have a DNC done the hospital never told me to do so but they said I might but you know how those doctors are in emerg!
