    Tweeter Hook Up
I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus and I am attempting to hook up a set of tweeters in the front and back on my existing speakers. Can this be done, and if so, how?

I am just trying to hook it up with my existing speakers. Ever time I do it, I get a lot of noise from the speakers. Am I not hooking it up right. Can you tell me what type of wiring I may need and how I would need to hook it up. Basically, if I mistakenly connect a positive to a negative wire, will it cause this type of distortion? Sorry, not able to upload pic at this time.

Do you have a crossover? Or do your tweeters have a built in crossover?

If they have a built in crossover, you should be able to just wire them right to the speakers from the input wires (from the head unit).

If they don't have a built in crossover... you'll have to get some... then wire the cross over to the speaker inputs, then to the tweeters.

You can't just hook up a set of tweeters without a crossover to a set of regular speakers... you will blow them.
