    Heating furnace
    My gas furnace will not stay on and produce heat. The pilot stays lit but it when we adjust the thermostat it comes on and then shuts off within 10-15 seconds the furnace shuts down but pilot stays on consitently.

    Chech the heat anticipator in the thermostat, this is a numbered slide and set it to .45 if it is electronic thermostat then the thermostat may be faulty. You could try jumpering the wires in the subbase of the thermostat and see if it stays on, the wires to jumper are red and white, good luck . Mike

Carrier heating/air furnace [ 1 Answers ]

We have a carrier gas furnace which is only about 5yrs old. The fan is not turning on the unit outside and it has begun making a loud noise but its working fine as far as heating the house. What could be the problem and would it cost a lot to fix. Thanks for any help.
