    Intruder or Imbecile?
I live up on the top floor of an apartment building. The other night, I was in bed and someone banged on the door. I saw a young man through the peephole. Thinking it was a neighbor, I asked who it was. He answered, "Is Rob home; it's Kev". I said he had the wrong place and he apologized and said he must have the wrong floor. I saw him through the peephole walk back down the hallway, but I had a feeling that he was not gone and waited about two more minutes and then saw him come quietly back to my door. When I saw him at my door, I said loudly, "I see you; what are you doing". He got rather angry and said, "Are you sure Rob is not there". I said, "Yes, I was sure" and then he went away. I called the police who came but did not find anyone. Do you think he was really looking for Rob or was he trying to do something else?

My vote is imbecile. He must have thought he had the right place and you were covering for him.

I think he was an intruding imbecile. Good thing you never opened the door. The imbecile might have had a weapon.

Probably just a dude who was given a wrong address or thought you were covering.

    Happens from time to time.

I would not have opened the door either. You never know what could have been. It does sound pretty imbecile.

He probably was looking for Rob and, for whatever reason, believed that your apartment was Rob's. You did the right thing in calling the police and not letting him in. How long have you lived in your apartment? Maybe Rob was the previous tenant there. If Kev comes back just call the police again.
