HIV fear
I went the other day to get tested for any STD's, I am so scared of catching HIV. They say I will get the result in 2 weeks... how is someone meant to do or think of anything else when this is on their mind... I can't stop thinking about it, I'm so stressed with this. Ive foolishly had unprotected sex with a few people(female) all from the UK.
I am a paranoid person and worry about something practically every day, but this is just too much. Anyone reading this please don't ever get yourself in this position because it is unbearable...

I think that anyone that has ever had an HIV test knows how your feeling. I know I remember that I got an extremely bad scare once. I was working at our local hospital, and I got stuck with a needle, for a safety precausion they put me on the coctal which is the drugs they give to people who have tested positive. And I had to be test every 2 weeks for like 8 months. Thankfully I was negative, but I was so scared I wouldn't even let my son or my friends or family come around me until I got the results that I wanted. Im sure you fine. Just remember when you get the call from the hospital, or doctor and they ask you to come in so that way the doctor can talk to you about your results it Doesn't MEAN THAT YOU HAVE IT, they ARE NOT allowed to give you the results over the phone, so please don't freak out. Some times the doctor's office forgets to tell there patients that. And that's SO UNCOOL! Good luck to you. I hope everything turns out OK for ya~

Sexually transmitted diseases
Have a read of that hunny stay positive its very unlikely you have got aids/hiv I have to ask where are you from because your attitude towards it is odd.
There are so many std's you can pick up just remember use a dam condom that's what there for to protect you and others to witch you have intercourse, I also don't like the part where you say... Ive foolishly had unprotected sex with a few people(female) all from the UK. I mean what the devil do you think we are aids is certainly not rife here and its very well understood I find that comment exceptionally rude I have to say.
Saying all this though chill out you can't make the test results come any more quick and look after yourself and think before you jump into bed with anyone.

Thanks you for your reply,I just can't cope with this stress, if I get that phone call to come in I'm going to be so scared, what if its positive?? I know it's the right thing to do in going and getting tested but part of me wishes I hadn't I can't physically or emotionally cope with this constant thinking I have it... I don't know if I should phone them to see if my results are in, people can request to get the results in 2days but because I wasn't thinking clearly I need to sit and wait for 2 weeks... its like waiting on the electric chair if you know what I mean

When you say "here" I don't know where "here" is... these were questions I was asked from the nurse "where was the person you had sex with,from" Even thought the internet can be misleading it describes parts of the world more prone to this horrible disease i.e. Africa... There was no malice in the comment

OH I know excetly what you mean. I would wait the two weeks too, only because the one in 2 days is called a rapped HIV test, and sometimes there not as good as the other ones. And don't listen to that other person, everyone makes mistakes I know I have. And I'm sure they have too. You get cought up in the moment and then you forget, just try and be more carful. Im sure you are fine. A good friend of mine was born with the disease, and it really sucks. They said he wouldn't live past the age of 17 and now he is going to be 26! He lives a hard life, but is one of the happiest people that I know. Your going to be fine, you just have to relax and get your mind off it. I know its a lot eaiser said then done. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

Im 27, I spoke to one of the ehalth advisers and they said if there was something wrong they would contact me quickly... I got tested on Wednesday there, if I don't hear anything for a while then I think, no news is good news, but because I constantly think about this, I can't sleep or eat... poeple say "you will be fine" but the truth is we don't know and that's what's scares me

You have to realize that this anxiety and fear has come from the actions that you took. No one forced you into bed with these women. Yes, everybody makes mistakes but now it is a lesson to be learned to ALWAYS USE PROTECTION. Also when you say a few people, I guess that means 3 or 4? Hard lesson to learn but I think you will be fine. At least your taking the responsibility of getting tested to make sure you do not have it.
Edit::::::
Wishing you the best!!

WHen it comes to this test the saying "no news is good news" doesn't apply here, because they can't tell you over the phone or anything. I know its stressful, and if you ever need an outlet you can talk to me. I know what your going through. But if the nurse told you that I think you should try and relax a little. Don't get yourself all worked up over this. And I know its so much easier said then done. Where are you from?

I am in fact from the uk and am a big part of the aids and hiv awareness here in the uk and I can assure you it has been drummed into people for well over 20 years here the precautions and needs of the sick and potentially sick.
We lived through mass bombings of pubs in a major gay area of london because of the biggoted opinions of people who do not understand the disease.
Rarely are people born with it and no longer in this country are you able to give blood without a full screening first.
UK summary
* 63,500 people living with HIV
* One in three infections are undiagnosed
* 7,450 new infections in 2005
* Gay men and African communities are most at risk
International summary
* Over 40 million people living with HIV
* Around 4.3 million new cases in 2006
* Almost 3 million deaths from AIDS in 2006
* Two thirds of all people with HIV live in sub-Saharan Africa
I could go on but it would be crazy to do so National Aids Trust
I do wish you the best I'm not that spitefull as some seem to think.

NY is great depending on where you go. I live in Albany which isn't much, but the city is really nice so many things to do. So many things to see, if you ever get the chance you should check it out! My goal in life is to go to Ireland. I am hoping I get to go next year!

Im starting to freak out with all of this... my arms and hip area have come out in a rash. Its like tiny reds dots, one of them being itchy. I've read a rash is a symptom of the first phase.
The last time I had unprotected sex was 8 weeks ago and I have been told I have to come back for another test because it could be too soon. Its just too coincidental that this rash has appeared at the same time when symptoms can start to show. I can't eat or sleep properly, I only have myself to blame for this... I really fear the worst

Hi,
Thanks for asking, I got results back today and it was all clear... I will have to go back at the end of the month for another test as my last sexual encounter was 9 weeks ago, so obviously I'm still a little worried... it felt like a relief today to get the result

I have a long timed friend that had contacted the disease either through his fast acting, life of the party, and being just plain pretty and too many people wanted him in all the ways loose. I noticed women given him an eye because he could cook and draw and carries a nice package.
Lately, I have...
