    I love my sister
My sister was in a 6 yr. unhealthy relationship to a married man. They now have a two year old daughter my precious niece. The father is a manipulator and severe drug user. My sister has been running from him for 3 months now and he has found out where she lives. She has reported him several times but until he does harm she will get no help. She is scared that when they go to court he will get weekend visitations with the baby. My sis can't afford a lawyer and is scared for her childes safety with this man. I guess my question is what can she do to keep that baby out of that mans lethal life? We all know money talks and this all falls back to the drugs and life style he leads, so yea he has money not legal but he has money.

She needs to file a restraining order on him. All she needs to tell them is that he is threatening her life and she is afraid for herself and the baby. They have to give you a restraining order. If nothing else, get a police report showing that you tried to get one in case something does happen.

There are lawyers out there that will work with payment plans to help people like your sister. Has she even looked for a lawyer or has she given up without even trying because she thinks she can't afford one?

She should go to a shelter, file charges, get a restraining order, stop talking to or communicating him, forget about going back for things and avoid going where he will find her. The shelter can help her find legal assistance and safety.

She needs to establish a legal record of his abuse so that she has that record in court if she needs it to at least enforce a supervision requirement for visitation.
