The PE Law
[F]
I am so hopeing that someone out there can help me! My husband is in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. He has been in long enough that he will be able to walk out a free man, except for regestering as a sex offender. He was supposed to get out April 29th of '08, now they are telling him it could be as late as Oct. of '08. What I need to know is this. He is not under the TE law but he is under the PE law. What act does the PE law fall under as far as goodtime goes? I would appreciate anything you could tell me or send me on this matter.
Thank you,
Jerrys Baby

Hello Baby:
If ANYBODY around here would be familiar with prison vernacular, it would be me. However, I have no idea what TE is versus PE. We've got several hundred joints around the country and each one of them has their own stuff.
If you want help, help me first.

Dear Excon,
Thank you for answering my letter. My husband is having me ask these questions, he has looked through all the law books there at the prison and can't find what he is looking for, that is why I decided to try this and I am so glad you are out there and can possibly help me and him, for that I thank you.
He told me tonight that the PE stands for Parole Eligibility and TE stands for Transfer eligibility. He is under the stagetorious law where he should get out automatically when he has done half of his time. I know it is confusing, it is to me. He will be writing it in a letter and sending it to me so I can send it to you the way he says it and what he needs to know about, if you are willing to help me and him out that way. I really need your help whatever way you can help me with this. I hear from him on Mondays and Saturdays.
I hope this is some help,
Thank you.
Baby
I don't know if the word underlined is spelt right, thank you again.
