Firehouse.Com - Firefighting, Rescue, EMS - Training for Firefighters, Firefighter Jobs, EMS, Rescue - Extrication, HazMat, Paramedic, Tactics & More has lots of interesting firefighting forums.

Firefighting @ Firehall.com - Canadian Firefighter Resource: Fire Fighting, Fire Protection, EMS and Rescue Services is a Canadian website.

I also just found Open Fire Academy today which looks like a good source of information (including "wikifire" the firefighting encyclopedia.

Good luck with the volunteering, I have been a municpal volunteer firefighter for over 8 years and have also been doing mine rescue for over 3 years... both are a great way to learn new things and give back to the community. I have been lucky enough to help people and even save a life or two... definitely worth the late night wake-ups and hours of commitment!

    Cheers
