    Sears ultra dishwasher
I have a sears ultra dishwasher model 665.1703.
The rinse agent (jet dry) leaks out bottom of fill location, runs down door and into
The tube. This occurs even though I do not overfill it.

Any suggestions about repairing this will be appreciated.

The unit out of warranty period.
    Thank you

Sounds to me that you might be missing a gasket on the fill plug. Inspect the plug and
make sure that there is a gasket in place. You may want to consider ordering a new
plug from an appliance dealer, it should be very reasonable. One more recommendation
would be to inspect the port where the plug inserts into for any cracks in the housing, if all looks good order a new plug this should fix the problem.

Thanks for your response. I failed to adequately describe the leak for you.
The leak is at the bottom of the plastic housing for the dispenser. There is
Rinse fluid along the enter bottom of the housing and at some point it collects
Enough to run down door panel and into the tub. I noticed a small opening at the
Bottom of the housing and if this is where the fluid is dispensed, possibly it
May be opening after the cycle completes or maybe opens and never closes
I hope this explains it a little better.

    Thank you

Not quite sure as to how to advise you at this point. Here is what I think if you are looking
to save money and not have it repaired by an appliance repair company. Stop filling the
dispenser, and buy the rinse tablets at the grocery store. They come in a little
plastic basket that you fasten to the upper rack with the tablets inside. Check out the
detergent isle and see what the options are for rinsing agents.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll look for that item the next time I'm at the grocery store.
The dispenser unit can be purchased for approx $40 and would require removing
The inner door panel to replace. Not knowing what to expect once the panel is
Removed, is this something best left to an experienced repairman?
    Thanks

To replace the dispenser inside the door panel is a pretty easy job. It sounds to me
that you already have some knowledge in regards to access of the dispenser unit.
Typically the dispenser that hold the rinsing agent is just a plastic reservoir, once you open up the inner panel and access the assembly it is pretty basic. It only consists of really two parts, the housing and a bi-metal that trip's the plunger that releases the agent when needed. Here are the steps to replace. Turn off the power to the unit, remove the panel to access the reservoir, remove the two wires, remove the reservoir and replace with the new one, reattach the wires and reassemble the panel assembly. That's it. When you go
to the appliance store to get the part most of the staff are very knowledgeable and will
give you good advise to help with the repair. Good luck you can do it.

Thanks for the help. I purchased the part for approx $50(including shipping and handling).
And installed it today. It corrected the problem.

    Thanks again.
