Hi,
I really hope someone can help with this, I recently replaced the pump on my spa, it is a 240volt 2 speed pump as was the original. It ran for about 4 hours then stopped, the time delay fuse (20a) on the circuit board had blown so I replaced that and now nothing runs except the light, and I can hear the relays click on the board if I press controls.
I have just replaced the board as I could not see what else it could be, but still no good, I have checked output on the pump supply (hi speed and Lo speed) and only get 120volts between the output from the relays on the board and neutral. I am wondering now about the transformer, does this supply 240volts from the two 120volt inputs or just 12volts to power the board relays and light?
The system uses a Balboa duplex board with only the 2 speed pump and heater (no blower or ozonator), the replacement board is almost identical to the original with the same inputs and I specified it was for a 240volt pump. I have checked 120 & 240 volt inputs from GFCI and all fuses.

I would bypass board all together, connect power to pump motor, try high and low speed, if it works, reinstall.
If you measured 120 volts from both legs to ground, it still may not have 240, and 1 pole of breaker tripped.
1 pole of 240 may make it through breaker, through motor and returning on other pole(blown side), apperaing to be live.
Measure 240 from breaker and follow through board and see where you loose it, should go through relay, and may have burned contacts, if power goes in, but not out, with relay energized, The click provided that is motor relay.

Thanks, I tried the motor and it works OK, the board connections have me puzzled, the wiring diagram on the cover of the controller shows the pump connected to the lo speed (black wire) and hi speed (red wire) relays, and the neutral (white) going to one of three neutral connectors, but I also see an unused connector on the board labelled black AC - does the pump neutral need to go to this black AC to give 240volts?

Measure between the black ac and low, and high, if you get 240 volts likely the connection.
Verify motor voltage on motor nameplate. If 240 volt motor, should not connect to neutral.

Thanks for the input, it is fixed now. It turned out to be the 30amp system protect fuse had blown & when I was checking voltages I got a reading of 120volts between either end of the fuse and neutral so assumed it was OK, after more study I realised that I should get 240 volts between fuse and black hot - which I did not until I replaced it.
The real problem was I could not get my head around the way 240 volts is supplied from 120, the two hot feeds are obviously combined at some point on the board so I could get either 120 or 240 volt readings which may or may not be correct depending on where I measure to and from.
(I am originally from UK and they are quite radical in using 1 hot, 1 neutral and 1 earth wire to supply 240volts - OK sarcastic rant done now).
Anyhow its all good now and thanks for the input.

Glad you got it going, Here we use white for neutral, over the pond, I understand blue was for neutral? Take Care
