    theft under $5000 x 2
    Long story made very short.
    I worked for a person who claimed I stole
    Money and 5 pups

    I did not!
    Pups were given as payment for my work

    When I was questioned about money those pups were on my property yet no complaint had been made yet.

    Five days later he files a complaint about stating they were stolen

    Money he claims $4500 but had a police officer tell me if I gave him less then half right then on the spot he would let it go.

    I have received a summon for the pups and less then half money

    I have no money to afford a lawyer so what do I do?

    Never in my life have I ever been involved in such things so I am beyond confused.

    You can't afford not to have a lawyer. What proof do you have that the puppies were given as payment?

    Hello a:

    DON'T do anything. That includes talking to the cops. Let them do the doing. IF they charge you, the court will give you an attorney for free. Then tell him everythng.

    Nothing in writing for anything.

    He cannot prove he paid me and I cannot prove he gave me the pups.
    I just find it odd when he knew the pups were here on my property that he waited five days to report them stolen.

    I am suppose to go to the cop shop tonight for something not sure what but the cop told me to come tonight.

    That will help you build a circumstantial case. But all the more reason for getting an attorney who will know how to build the case.

    Hello again, a:

    The summons says you should be in court at such and such time and place. Do that. It's the COURT who is requesting your appearance. It's the COURT who will appoint a lawyer for you. You want to OBEY the COURT.

    The cop, on the other hand, wants you to come by to sign a confession. Like I said earlier, I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't talk to them AT ALL. By the way, if you didn't get that sentiment yet, let me repeat it for you ----

    DON'T TALK TO THE COPS!!

    It is stated on the summons that I have to go to the police station this evening. I will not sign anything and I have never spoken to a cop and will not start now.

    This cop tried to pretend to be my friend; asking me to give him money and he would not pursue the case. If that is not a dirty cop then I do not know what is.

    I learned that day that no cop is my friend and I do not believe a word anyone of them say.

    Have an appointment next week with a legal ad lawyer.

    They have advised me to go to the cop shop but not say a word and no statements. NONE

    They told me likely I will be finger printed maybe a mug shot... anything else they require a warrant and NO COMMENT is the only words I am allowed to say.

    Will let you know when I get home what has been said.

    Lawyer mention that I should have filled out an incident report for the officer asking for money and searching my vehicle without permission.

    Have to look more into that one.

    Well I think it is kind of obvious that cop is scared he does not have any proof. Why?

    He repeatedly asked me to give him $1300. My bank account is in the minuses 90% of the time. Where does he think I would hide that kind of money? I am sinking in debt. Give me a break.

    Got mug shot, finger prints, he desperately tried to get a statement...NO COMMENT

    He then tried to be my best friend by telling me what to expect on court day and that nothing happens the first day anyway. blah blah blah

    I thought good cop bad cop actually took two cops?

    Also they will and are allowed to lie to you to try and get you to confess or get a statement. So remember no attorney, no talking ever.

    I have an appointment with a lawyer next week. Finally found one who knows who is making these claims and says it would be his pleasure to take the case as long as I promise a civil suit when he wins it for me. I can pay him from that.

    I would certainly assume the person who made these accusations against me has a history!

    I will keep you up dated on all the events as they happen.

    The lawyer had several questions that are still unanswered:

    why wait four months to charge someone?
    Especially when the cop claimed he had all the evidence he required?
    why wait so long to read rights to someone?
    why act like a mediator when they are not allowed to?

    Lawyer told me this particular police department is about the sloppiest around in Ontario if not Canada.

    Will know more when we go to court and demand full disclosure!

    First court appearance was great.
    Requested time to organize the lawyer...granted.
    I also requested disclosure and got it.

    Dates/Times are all mixed up.
    It clearly states no evidence in those exact words...

    this is going to be a so simple and the lawyer I am dealing with has made me promise to pursue civil action after this.
