    Monitor goes blank
    Hi Friends:

My monitor frequently goes blank, the light indicator goes yellow from green which would occur normally when I turn the PC off. So I think the monitor looses connection with the PC though it is getting power from the elecricity source.

This happens for a few seconds and then the monitor comes back to normal.

Sometimes have to restart the PC.

    Thanks for your advice

You didn't say you checked all connections. Starting the PC to rectify this problem is not a good idea.

Go into the control panel and check your Power Options to make sure that it's not set to turn off the monitor every minute.
    Try a new video cable.
If it still drops to power save mode try the monitor on another computer and see if it exhibits the same behavior. If it still has problems replace the monitor, if it works fine then you most likely will need to replace your video card.
