    ? On 3 phase power
    Hi All,

I have a 220v single phase welder with a 3 prong plug "2 flat, {hot}, and 1 round, {neutral} pins", but my shop has only 3phase 230v. I think, but asking to be sure, I can hook the welder up using 1 hot leg and neutral to the 2 hot in legs on the welder and the neutral "ground" leg on the plug to ground also.

I've checked an the neutral leg of the plug is only a case ground, and there is no continuity to either of the hot legs of the plug.

Also, my 120 volt converter can't handle the 50 amps needed for the welder.

Just connect the two hot legs to two of the phases using a two pole breaker to get single phase from a 3 phase panel.
