    Childcare Income and Deductions
We are babysitting for our new Grandson. Our son pays us each week. 1 questions please.

    1. Will our son and wife be able to claim the payments at tax time. If they can, I know we will have to report this as income.

What I am not sure of is, if taxpayers can claim childcare if it is just family and not a licensed facility.

    Thanks

    Jim:

As long as you report the income on your tax return and they report your name and SSN, they CAN claim the Child Tax Credit.
