    Right of rescission of an apartment lease in Texas
    I signed a one-year lease for an apartment in anticipation of a divorce. It now looks like my spouse may reconcile. Can I cancel the lease. I signed it yesterday.

    Read your lease carefully. If there is any right to cancel it will specifically say so, usually near the signature line. If it doesn't state a right to cancel then try speaking to the landlord. You may be able to get out of the lease in return for a payment, such as a month's worth of rent.
