    Potty training problems
My 3 year old boy is being very stubborn with the whole potty training thing. He has gone in the toilet many times... but we can't seem to get the potty training finished. He will go days without an accident and then he will go a week with constant accidents. We are being really consistent with the schedule at daycare and at home. He will go on his own about 50 percent of time... the other times we have to remind him to go... and he does. We even have rewards set up for staying clean and dry... he gets to wear his "special" underware... and he really loves them. We have been potty training for about 6 months now. He has the muscle control to hold it and the cognition to know to go potty in the toilet... but he won't do it ALL the time. Any ideas?

    Just hang in there star.
It sounds like you and your son are doing everything just fine.
I had the same issues with my son, but with time and patience
He figured it out completely and your son will too.
A lot of times you just have to let them make the decision to go potty ALL the time on their own... and don't worry, he will come to the conclusion that
Having accidents is yucky and will choose to go potty instead.
My son was a little over 3 and a half before he made the decision.
Good luck, sounds like your doing a wonderful job so far, it won't be too much longer.

I hope so... because he is 3 and a half now... and it is getting very frustrating to have him still having "accidents"... although I don't consider them accidents because he knew what he was doing when he did it. Thank you for your words of wisdom. Have a great night!

I know what your talking about.
I posted here on this site when my son was about 3 and a half because I was getting frustrated.www.askmehelpdesk.com/parenting/potty-training-28721-2.html
It was only like a month or 2 after that he was completely potty trained.
