    Hi my partner has the same problem,he's 15thousand in debt with a credit company,now he does not work as he's been paid off,and no income at all,he has spoken to them telling them he can't pay this debt right now,so what will happen please help

    First it is not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's thread. This tends to cause confusion. So your post was moved to its own thread.

    What will probaably happen is they will sue him and obtain a judgement against him. They will then try and go after any assets he has.

    Thanks scott,just to say he has no assets,he also stays with me sometime,not all the time,will they try and get to me,what I mean is,will they try to make me pay,he has no name on anything I own,house,car etc;

    Is his name on any of your property? At least here in Florida the only way they can go after your things is if you put his name on your property. They can't just go after anyone who helps him, they can only go after HIS Assets. So if he doesn't have his name on anything that belongs to you, keep it that way. Don't put his name on anything of yours.

    As long as you don't co own any assets, and are not signed on the debt, they can't come after you.
