    Dog ran into table
My dog ran into a table and hit his head. He jumped up on the couch and started uncontrollable shaking, it lasted about 1-2 minutes? What was going on?

What kind of dog is it? How old? I had a toy fox terrier that had seizures and it was very scary. The bonk on the head may or may not have anything to do with the shaking. Small breeds seem to be more susceptible to seizures. Has he ever shaken like this before?

Wait I'm confused, is it he or she? At any rate, I doubt the bonk had anything to do with it other than frightened the dog. I'd mention it to my vet if I were you. If it is seizures, only the vet will know the severity of them and treatment required. With Weezer, the seizures were so seldom, the vet said to just stroke him and keep him comfortable until it was over. He is now 14 years old still living with my parents.

Keep an eye on him. If the head starts to swell, get him to a vet.

    Hi:

When we were dog-sitting our son's Lab, he ran full speed into a stone table at the dog park and was a little woozy immediately afterward. We called the vet and he gave essentially the same advice that you got from Labman- also to watch for changes in behavior or vomiting - symptoms of a concussion.

He said that adult dogs rarely get concussions from just running into stationary objects so we did not have to bring him in unless there were other symptoms.

He could have seizures that you never saw because certain things in the head trigger off seizures like bumping into a table if it hits a certain spot.
