    Retirement funds
Approximately 5 months ago my checking account was seized by a credit card company that obtained a judgement against me that I didn't know about. I filed for an exemption and the money was returned. I live on a fixed income of Social Security and a small company funded pension. I know SS is judgement proof, is the other pension also judgement proof? I have informed my Credit Union that the only money coming into my checking account are retirement funds both by direct deposit. I have been transferring the money to a credit card. I would like to be able to use my checking account to pay rent and bills but am not sure about the employer funded money being judgement proof. I am elderly and it is difficult to pay bills by money order. Thank you srogers

Its not officially protected, but you may be able to exempt a certain amount monthly from attachment. Check with the courts.

You don't need an attorney to go into a courthouse and speak to the clerk of the court.
