Shy thanks for the recipe! My grams used to make rubarb pie. Yum!
Back to the subject. I am home all day I baby sit my 8 month old nephew.
I am on and off. When I'm not on the site I'm either cleaning , cooking busy with baby or my kids, well not really kids any more 15 and 18. I go watch my daughter ride horses at the stables. Make my son do his school work.
Visit friends and family or out side doing something.
Summers almost over so we better take advantage of the outdoors!

Rhubarb and strawberry pie, Hmmmm my mouth is watering now.
When I am not here, I am out and about. Working. Playing with the little one, spending time with my Wife. Also cleaning, cooking , etc...
I used to be on every chanch I get but now I try to get on occasionally. I enjoy helping people out as well. It is important.

Hey hun! My apartment is OK for right now, we're expecting more storms, I think they are down in your area right now, or just past. How is everything down there? Not too much damage I hope.

Rhubarb Cake - this from my Grandmother
1 1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shortening (remember Crisco?)
1 egg
2 cups white flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour milk (if you do not have sour milk, you can sour mil by adding a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar)
2 cups cut up rhubarb
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
Topping for the cake
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon (or more to your tastes) cinnamon
OR
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup coconut
Cake:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg. Beat well. Add dry ingredients and milk. Mix well. Add rhubarb and vanilla. Place in 13 x 9 greased and floured cake pan. Add your choice of toppings.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-40 minutes.
Thank you for posting this, Shy! I would like to try it. Never heard of it before.

Everything good here so far! Thanks for asking! WE didn't have power for awhile yesterday, but I sat out back and watched the lightening storm, it was beautiful..
NO real wind or anything just a bunch of rain. Clouds are looking pretty dark right now.
I am so tired today though. I would love to snuggle under the covers and sleep... sleep.. but I can't. Almost time to make dinner and so much cleaning to do. I would rather leave it all and just sit and watch a good movie!
Everyone good? Any excitement anywhere?
