Theift under $5000 . From employer
So 2 days ago I was confronted by the loss prevention people at the place I work at (extra foods) for stealing money from my till...

I am 18, I have no record at all... not even a speeding ticket. But since it was from my employer that I was stealing and I was in a position of trust (cashier) I know things can be taken a lot worse... I just wanted to know what kind of chances I have. I have not talked to police yet... the loss prevention person asked them to come to the store but they said to let me go and to send the stuff she had to them and they would review it.

Is there any way to walk away from this without a criminal record? There is basically no way that I can plead not guilty at this point...

Can anyone help me? I just kind of want to know what I'm getting into before it all starts...

Yes, from a legal view point, there is always a reason to plead not guilty, and you never confess (ever) without talking to your attorney first.

Even if they have you on video, and 4 nuns and a Buddhist monk saw you steal it, you always plead not guilty and then your attorney can try and work out a plea agreement latter or try and get some of the evidence thrown out of court.

Employer paid too much [ 1 Answers ]

I have a question about vested interests. My former employer paid me 100% of the vested interest in my 401K instead of 40%.
