    Puppy Problems
To anyone who could possibly help me :(
I have two pitbull puppies that are seven and a half weeks old. One, a girl, is extremely healthy and active. The other, a boy, started to eat but for the last several weeks he won't eat a thing. He will only drink from his mother but not very much and he also drinks lots and lots of water. He is very under weight and weak. Tonight his poop was bloody with a very bloody, foul smell. I would greatly appreciate any help that I could receive on this problem. Thank you so very much.:)
    Sincerely,
    Connie Sanders:(

    Hi,
Bloody poop, of any kind, is a "danger" signal, and you should take it to the Vet IMMEDIATELY!!
I cannot emphasize more getting the puppy to a Vet now.
I won't even mention all the possibilities, but the Vet can tell you what's wrong and help you. One possibility is a very, very bad infection, which needs immediate attention. Another possibility is deadly.
Please take it to a Vet TODAY.
I do wish you and the puppy the best of luck.

I regret to tell the few who answered the questions for me that my puppy died yesterday morning. :( I had an appointment to take him to the vet yesterday, but the previous night was just too rough on him. He was very sick all night and laid on my chest. He died the next morning after a very excruciating and painful night. He actually died in my arms. The only bright side to this outcome is that he is not suffering anymore. Thank you all so very much for your concerns.
    Sincerely,
    Connie Sanders

    Hi, Connie,
I am so very, very sorry to hear about the puppy. Thank you for letting us know.
My wife and I had a poodle-terrior mix housedog, who passed away at home this past Jan. She had a very low red blood cell count, enlarged spleen and possible cancer. She would have been 12 yrs old in June.
I know you will miss the puppy and I am glad you have the other puppy. We cannot bring ourselves yet, to check out the local Animal Shelter, looking for another puppy.
Since you mentioned your puppy is a Pit Bull, I would like to offer the following information:

As a new puppy owner, I highly recommend a video by Ceaser Millan, a Professional Dog Behaviorist. He rehabilitates dogs, and trains people.

He has his own TV program, the Dog Whisperer, on the NGEO (National Geographic) channel, on Friday nights mainly, but also comes on some other days. This video is available from:
    http://www.dogpsychologycenter.com/
I also ordered his new book, "Ceaser's Way", from Walmart online, around $15 US, and it's very good!

There are other good videos available on the web, but this one is really worth your attention.

I do wish you the best, and please visit us here at this site often. I would like to know on-and-off how your puppy is doing. Please?
    Best wishes.

Sorry to hear about your loss I have a litter of pit bull puppies on the ground right now and It would just break my heart if anything like that happened to them but I have a wonderful vet. I know how you feel though. I recommend taking the other puppy to the vet ASAP in case it was parvo it could have been passed to the other one, if you haven't done so. Did they have their first round of shots? And were they de wormed? Well hope things go well.

No offense, but several weeks of not eating... isnt it common sense to take an animal to the vet if its not eating for more than 48 hours...

You are right Makita. No offense meant here, but this question is well over a year old. The poster probably won't see your response.
