No Hot Water in Shower Only
I've read all the posts on this issue and determined that I needed to check for gunk/clogs in my Price Pfister single handle shower faucet. The house has been vacant a year before I moved in, and everything is probably a good 10 years old. So, I got the handle off and can't figure out what to do next. Everything is quite "limey" and I'm worried about using brute force on something that shouldn't need it. So with the single handle off, we have the plate, a metal cylinder layer, a green plastic cylinder layer inside that, and a small black plastic cylinder inside that. What is supposed to come out to check for blockage?

Turn the water off and bleed the pressure off. Then remove the 4 screws and pull the cartridge out. Using some sort of funnelling device so water does not leak inside the wall, have someone turn the water back on. Make sure the shower door is closed and the tub drain is closed so you can catch the debris. Then reassemble
