    Toto toilet not going down
    Question and problem:
Basement was plumbed for a future bath.
Cut off cap from3 inch pvc, threw a bucket of waterinto pipe and it went away.
Put on flange and installed new , top of line TOTO toilet.
Filled tank with water. Flushed and water filled bowel. Did not go down for over an hour.
Took it off and ran water and short snake in line. Found nothing.
Noted about 3 inches of water at elbow about 20 inches down.
Put back together, filled, flushed , it filled bowel. Did not go down.
Loosend flange bolt and raised side a little and down it went.
As I did not do the rough, wondered if air lock, even with 20 inches of space in 3 inch pipe.
Could they have put a trap at the bottom? Could the pipe be tilted for water to be in the pipe. No problems in the rest of the house.

    Would old style toilet work?
    Thx

Walt, your sewer line just might not have a VENT connected to it. How long was the sewer rod? DO you know if this sewer is tied in with the rest of your sewer line? If It!s a new house talk to the builder he may know;""

Believe house built more than 25 years ago. Looks like plumbing was roughed in then. Looks as done by professional. Other line from above is about 3 feet away.<all under concrete floor> I don't know how it was connected but presume properly with vent as line serves above facilities.
Don't know if plugged by no usage or if they put a trap at the elbow. Might have to get a camera, scope, in the line to see what's there.
Might try an old style toilet to see if it works, maybe not as sensitive as ToTo.

WALT CK. That would be agood idea , that's one thing I was going to susgest. AT least it will tell just what is going on. Run it both ways and check out to see if there is a ventThen you can buy a new toilet if that don't work . Let me know what you find out Flying Blue Eagle>::"
