Hi, I've just received a text messages of a mate that I know... but only through other mates asking if I mind if I take my ex out?
What am I supposed to say to that?

Be a man, be generous!
She is your ex, in theory, you can't stop someone else asking her out.
Your mate is just being polite and respectful about it.
If u don't feel comfortable, then tell your mutual friends what you want to say, let them forward your message to your mate who wants to ask your ex out.
Don't be distracted by dramas like this in your life, please don't get angry, pissed or worried... focus on what you are working on right.
Peace.

Tell him straight fella... if you don't want it to happen, he needs to know and he needs to know why, and soon!
Unless by "Take out" he means in a hitman way... then that's a whole different kettle of fish! Lol!

We've been together for 3.5 years an been split up now for about 4 months! I will be a man because I don't want to ever stop her from dating others but for some reason I always think, I wonder if she would get back... it's a tough one!

I know it's hard mate, you don't want her... but you don't want anyone else to have her either right?
If you're going to tell the guy no then you need to give them both a good reason, otherwise you'll be giving her hope of reconciliation. If you're going to let it happen, then take a step back and let it!

She was the one that dumped me so I think she'll just want to move on!
I might just not reply at all, it's my bloody birthday tomorrow too... just what I need eh!
I might wait to see if she wishes me a happy birthday! An might speak to her about it!

Dave, the big part of letting go, is let her do as she wants, so you tell your friend that its none of your business, and you appreciate the respect of asking you. Let her do as she pleases.

I've been out of the loop on current dating trends for decades now. But, now that my good looking son is 16, girls are constantly hitting on him.
