An egg is expelled from a woman's ovary during ovulation, which takes place approximately 12-14 days after the first day of her last period. Since every woman is not the same, ovulation does not always take place at this time.

Sperm can live in a woman's body 5 or 6 days.

You need to wait until you miss a period, and then wait 1-2 weeks after that missed period to take a pregnancy test. When you take the test, make sure you use your first morning urine. :)

During ovulation the egg is released from the ovary and travels down the fallopian tube where fertilization actually occurs. Once released from the ovary the egg is viable for conception for only 24 hours.

As stated above, sperm can live inside a woman's body for several days. However, the majority of the sperm die within minutes of ejaculation. It only takes one sperm to fertilize and egg, so only the strong survive, so to speak.

The most common first symptom of pregnancy is a missed period.

Wow :) Ok, from the top. You can buy ovulation tests at your local drug store to find out for SURE when you are most fertile... But usually you are most fertile just before/during your period (so I've heard, I'm not a medical expert... ) Sperm can stay in a woman's body (can get you pregnant) for 5 days. Once you have missed a period - or been a month since your last period since you had sex - take a test. If a week later you still have not had another period, take another test... Keep doing this until either you have your period, or the test says positive. If you don't have your period and the test says you are not pregnant for 3 months, seek medical attention :)

(sometimes if you want to be pregnant bad enough, it can make your period stop, and sometimes, even start lactating!! )

So take it easy, relax, and remember, practice makes perfect. :D

I have never heard of making yourself lactate. If you have discharge from your nipples and are definitely not pregnant, you need to see a doctor.

LOL I actually had a friend that told everyone she was pregnant, and I went to the doc with her, (for support) she thought she was maybe 3 mo along... no period, but had all the symptoms... even started a little morning sickness. She really really wanted to be pregnant, and the doc was astounded with everything there -- even lactation starting -- (I know it was early if @3mo but it can happen) and he said he was sorry to tell her but she was not pregnant =(

Damn that suck.. I am just going to wait until I get my period.. if I don't get my period I will wait 4 days then I will take a pregnant test.. how you guys doing?
