    Car accident.
    HI, My name is Rosie, I have a question thats killing me, i was in a car accident last year in 06, i was engaged & my fiance at that time didnt notify me that he canceled the insurance so little to know on that month i got in a car accident, now i have to pay $5,000. & i can't afford it, i have 1 son whos 5 & i just make ends meet. To top that off the lawyer told me to pay or else i'll go to jail, i'm scared & stressed out. What should i do?:confused:

    -Who is at fault in this accident? If it was you, did the other car have insurance?

    -Is he your lawyer? Or is he their lawyer??

    -You ARE NOT going to jail!!

    You aren't going to jail. Did the other guys insurance company get a judgement on you? If it is just the other guy hounding you he'd have to take you to court and get a judgemnent.

    It was my fault, the lady's insurance paid for eveything, but she wanted more money, I guess, & the lawyer is her's, the reason why I say that I don't want to go to jail is b\c he's threatening me, to pay all the money & I cant, I use to go to school but know I can't offord it, plus I'm s single mother. I'm scared.

    OK. First of all do you have any resources e.g a friend who could bail you out or a savings account. I don't live in the USA so I don't know you're laws bt honesty you'd never go to jail for that in the UK! Its hardlythat much of a crime no one was hurt and you didntknow. Sorry I can't be more help good luck!
