    When remodeling a kitchen does a 220 volt wire need to be enclosed in a box? Or is it safe to just be cut off and wrapped with black electrical tape?

    Should use the proper cable connector into a junction box, cap off each wire with tape or wirenuts, and cover the box with the proper blank cover.
