The wiring is a mess on this old briggs engine
I bought an old simplicity garden tractor at an auction sale CHEAP! But the wiring is a chaotic mess and the only diagrams I can find are for newer engines. This one is a 1975 Briggs not sure how much HP either, the model # is 302431. I have broken wires coming out of the points system and I have no idea where they go. Im going to have to pull the engine out to get the blower housing off and see what kind of mess I have in there. I have no idea about points, condensers, magnetos Its all before my time. Can anyone help?

Well, if you go to a mower shop, they may have a used coil (armature - magneto) that will convert your points and condenser unit to a solid state ignition system. Then you need a charging wire, a starter wire, and a kill wire.
