Palmetto bugs are probably the creepiest of all the bugs known to mankind, In my opinion. They are cockroaches. If your infestation is very bad, there may be a nest somewhere within the walls of your home or just outside your home and there is a point of entry that is allowing these creatures to enter. Speak to people you work with, your new neighbors, or the realtor who sold you the house, and find out if they have a good reliable Pest Control company they can recommend. Then make a call and find out what they charge before making an appointment so there are no surprises with their fee. The exterminator will be able to determine if there is a nest, will know how to deal with it, and should be able to identify the access points and either close them off for you or tell you how to do it yourself.
If you don't feel there is an infestation or you don't want to spend the money for an exterminator, you are going to have to figure out where they are entering and close off their access into your home. To get rid of the ones that are already inside, go to your local garden center such as Loews, Home Depot, or an independent. They all carry products that will kill the bugs. |
