Good girl trying to get off probation early
I am a 20 year old in Tennessee and in November of last year I was charged with dui and reckless aggravated assault for hitting a car while under the influence. I spent 10 days in jail for my 1st offense and received 2 years probation. I have not violated probation at all and was not ordered drug classes. About 5 months ago my PO told me I could come to probation every other month and now it is every three months. All my fines are paid. My PO won't really talk to me about early termination even though I have followed all conditions of my probation to a T. If I go over her head and ask her supervisor about this will that look bad? November 30th will be 1 year spent on probation and I was thinking since I have already done half my time without any violations that this wouldn't be a problem. PlEaSe HeLp! Im so tired of this probation crap!!

https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/mental...ty-122934.html also www.spellfinder.com/drankdriving Please be sur to look at the 2nd link. The state is trying to allow you to see the errors of your ways. Do your time and be glad that a empty parked car was all that you hit. I was grocery shopping this weekend and when I came out of the store a mother from MADD was standing there promoting a finder raiser, she had on a t-shirt of a young girl maybe 19 , she was her daughter and had been killed by a drunk driver in 2002. How sad! Please take this time to reflect on what you did and that you could have killed someone or yourself. You may see probation as crap but prison would be even crapier.

I know it was a terrible thing I did and there was a person in the car I hit. Hence the reckless aggravated assault charge. I know you must think I'm just a young girl looking for the easy way out but 10 days in jail was enough reflection for me. I can't take back the decision I made to drink and drive but it has changed me sooo much. Thanks for the comment

I was not trying to be mean to you and I know young people make bad decisions, sometimes. I just wanted you to know how lucky you got off. I really hope that you learned your lesson, a little partying is not worth losing your life over. Good Luck to you.

    Dear Ashley,

I wholeheartedly agree with the very fine posts by bushg above! Okay, so you are half done with probation? Yes, it probably would look bad to your PO if you did go over her head. The fact that your visits have been less and less should already be a blessing to you. Please think about the people who have to report to their probation officer every week! On top of that, for the entire duration of their probation.

Let's see, you have a year left on probation and have to see your PO only four more times then? It seems like they have been more than kind to you. You did not have to attend drug classes? Your frequency of seeing your PO has been less and less.

My suggestion is please don't rock the boat. Do your time with this. It will be over eventually. If you get them angry with you, all they have to do is go to court, show just cause, and recommend that your probation be extended.

    Hello Ashley:

At the top of this page is a thing I wrote on how to transfer your probation. You get off probation early by following the same techniques.
