    Capacitor Location
I have just encountered a fan failure on our air conditioner after a major storm. I replaced the fuses but the compressor hums but the fan still doesn't move. I gave the fan blades a little push and everything turned on for a short while but on the second run, it didn't start. From all my research I'd like to replace the capacitor next but I have no idea where it's located. Would someone please let me know where it is. A picture would be very helpful to me because I'm more of a visual person. Thank you to all for looking at my request.

If you took two cylinders and taped them together and looked at the result it would be a capacitor. A single cylinder could also be a capacitor. They have markings of voltages and capacitances like 4 uf or 4 MFD. They can be a dual capacitor. One capacitor is used for running and the other for starting.
