How can I apply for a canadian citizenship. I have visited canada only once on visit visa. I have a US visa for 2 year. I want to have a canadian citizenship so that I can work there. I can speak very good english and my profession is in the field of oil ang gas.

Basically you can use one of the followings:

1. Skilled Workers - independently - via Provincial or Federal. You will get faster approval under Provincial for specific working and location you have to stay inside Canada. You can check with more information under different Provincial Government
2. Marriage (Hetero or Homo) as Canada is allowed same sex marriage - it is assumed to be faithful
3. Hired by a local company and they apply you for working status and then you can change to immigration status from employment to Permanet residency

If you live more than 1095 days (physcially present within the territory of Canada), you can apply for Citizenship after 1096 days. Please make sure that you have lived more than 1095 days before you apply your citiznehip. You will need to take the citizenship exam test.
