    Fan switch replacement
    Hello,
I recently received an old fan from a friend that is missing the fan switch. I bought a new switch but am unsure which wire goes into which hole. Can you help?

Well there are the usual white, black & red. But also purple, blue, green & orange. Some are coming from the fan light & some are coming from the motor.

Are You Trying To Hook Up The Whole Fan Fixture, Or Just A Switch For The Fan, Or The Switch For The Light. Sounds Like You Are Hooking The Whole Unit Up.

I put up the fan & the light. The light works but, the fan switch was removed from the fan. I bought a new switch (the switch that goes inside the fan, not the wall) but am unsure which wire goes in the 4 different intry points of the switch?
