    Kenmore HD 80 series dryer
    Do you know if they break down. I need to bring the dryer down a cellar that is 25 inches wide.

    This isn't exactly an answer, but my family has a 1968 gas dryer that's still functioning well.

    Regular maintenance (cleaning) and some painting every so often. There was only one problem that gave me hissy fits. The burner would light and then go out. Fatigue on a metal part. The ignitor has to be replaced every so often. Works like a champ. Belt broke once.
    Advice. Regular mainenance. Electric dryers In my opinion are inherently less reliable.
