    Can H1 visa be postponed?
I currently got a great job in my home country but still want to move back to the US. I would, however, like to remain in my current position for 1 year to gain the excellent experience it offers. I got my H1 petition approved and now need to schedule an interview at the consulate to obtain my stamp (hopefully).

    My question is as follows:
Can I get my h1 visa and then postpone my trip to the US to start working?

    If so, for how long?
While my start date would be October this year, am I correct in understanding that I can't get that time back (i.e. can't postpone visa start date)?

What is the expected start/arrival date I should write down on my interview form?
Please understand the urgency of this email.

Any help would be great. Thanks
