    Shredding Toilet
I live on a canal boat and have a shredding (macerating?) toilet which has a holding tank inside the boat. I pump the tank out fortnightly and use a product to stop the sewerage breaking down to reduce odour. However, the toilet tend to smell a bit and I think the piping, which looks a bit perished, needs replacing.

I was reading sewerage about some 'no smell' hose that could be used. Does anyone know about this product? Or have any suggestions re my toilet problem. The boat and plumbing is 5 years old.

Never ran into a "no smell" hose but I would check all connections to see if the smell came from there before replacing the discharge pipe. You do have a separate vent on your holding tank don't you? Regards, Tom

Thanks Tom. Yes it does have a vent - under the bathroom window so when you flush it does smell. But my problem is more than that - will take your advice and check all the hoses and conections. Cheers Trish
