    Windows XP Shut down
    My computer does not shut down completely. I get the MS sound, it tells me I'm logging off and it hangs with the screen saying Windows is shutting down. It does this about 60% on all shutdowns. Anybody any ideas? Im using Windows XP.

    This might take a little time in trouble shooting because there are various things that can cause this.
    Here is a link, with step by step instructions on what to do, and then keep going until you find the specific problem, then how to fix it.

    In my experience, incomplete installation of updates or software has been the #1 culprit.

    If you've recently installed software or done a Windows update, try restoring to a point prior to the installation.
