My carrier central unit does not work. On the outside condenser part the fan does not move it only humms and sometimes it is just silent. Can that part be repaired and where can I get the part? The unit is very hot outside.

I am near atlanta Georgia.

You can try to lubricate the motor and spin it to see if that helps.
You can try to test or replace the capacitor if the motor spins after lube.
You can get a replacement motor and new capacitor.
You can call for service if you are in a hurry.

Usually HVAC supply houses have motors or you might try Grainger.
Take the motor out and take it with you so you are sure to get the correct RPM,horse power and rotation. Mark all wires from where they came from.
If the blade is difficult or will not come off the shaft get a new blade also. This new blade will make the job a lot easier is the old one is rusted on.

VERY IMPORTANT!! Shut the power off to the unit before working on it to prevent electric shock and possible serious consequences.
