    Is my checking account safe?
Citi is threatening to obtain a judgement against me, a resident of Texas, for a credit card that was illigally used and a large debt run up that I cannot pay. The person who ran up the debit is someone I simply cannot file criminal charges against. If they win a judgement, can they take the funds from my checking and other accounts?

    Hello mc:

Yes they can. In Texas, they can't garnish your wages, but your bank accounts are fair game.

    Hello mccordd

I don't know your circimstances but if some one run up a big bill on my credit card I would have that person pay it back Why would you want to risk messing up your credit!
    Are you covering for someone?

Of course you can file criminal charges against them, you just perfer not to. So by not filing charges you are saying the person had your permission to use the card or at least you don't care and agree to pay.

So if you don't press criminal charges, yes they can get a judgement and can go after your bank accounts
