    Mortgage and divorce
I am looking to purchase the home I reside in by getting a mortgage and am worried that if I do so that my "future" ex will be able to sue me for the house or it least half of it. We are legally separated and have been for approx. 5 months now and are waiting out the time to get the divorce. Am I able to get the mortgage without him being able to sue for half or all of it?

Are you filing for divorce? You may want to consider a purchase option to buy some time until the big-D... Just a thought. You may want consult legal advise to be safe.

    Good luck, either way.

You should be able to. If you and he never owned the home as a marital asset then it shouldn't be an issue.
