Removing a ty seal and extension
Anyone know how to remove a drain extension that installed in ty seal? It is for a shower drain. I want to remove the old extension and seal and reinstall a new one. I am doing a shower pan from scratch and want to update the drain.

I don't know how long the extension is but if it is long enough to put a car jack on the hub that the ty seal is in and wrap a chain around the extension so that when the jack is made to go up the chain tightens on the extension, keep jacking the chain up and it should pull the extension out of the ty seal, then removing the ty seal is easy. An old style bumper jack is the best type to use if you happen to have one. If you do not have a jack that will fit then you can use the chain around the extension and you a lever and fulcrum type mechanism.
