Father/daughter dance
Hello. My father passed away last year. I will be getting married next year and my 14 year old son from a previous marriage will be walking my down the aisle. Is it still appropriate to have me dance with my son for a father/daughter type dance? If so, do you have any recommendations? Thanks so much.

First let me say I am sorry for your loss. It must be hard on you when you should be at your happiest.
Now, rather than a father/daughter dance, have a mother/son dance. If your son welcomes your new husband with open arms I think it is a beautiful idea.

Its your wedding, do what you want. You can dance with your mom, a favorite uncle, your son, your soon father in-law. Do whatever makes you happy>

Ask your son to help you pick a song you can both dance to. It'll mean a lot and it sounds like a very sweet gesture. :)
One suggestion: Godspeed (Sweet Dreams Little Man)

Im very sorry for your loss. I think a Mother/Son dance would be appropriate and there are a lot of songs that could be danced to... Good luck.

Dance with whom ever you want-----just don't call it a Father/Daughter dance.

Whatever makes you happy is what you should do. Dancing with your son would be lovely. I also like the idea of dancing with your father in law.
If you want to also honor your father and your relationship with him, you could show some slides of the two of you together over the years during the reception.
