    Roommate stole my stuff
I moved in with my girlfriend (only her name was on the lease), we broke up, she did not come back to the apartment, a couple of months later after I realized she was not coming back I went to the apartment manager and filled out a lease for myself in another apartment, same complex. In the process of moving, already packed up but had to go to work and while I was at work her and her brother came and took several valuable items that I purchased. What are my rights, and how can I go about getting these items back?

I don't know if this is the right thing to do but I would call the police and report that these items were stolen and you have an idea about how took them. See what happens from there.

I filed a police report and did report them stolen, but because her name was on the lease, she had a right to go into the apartment but not to take my stuff. A police officer lives across the road and he seen her and her brother take my stuff, computer, large screen TV (that I was still paying on), dvds. Cds, tore up my yearbooks and some pitchers, took my personal papers, camera, shoes, belts and more. I need some legal advice here please...

This seems obvious, although you didn't mention it: have you called your former GF to ask for your stuff back?

Failing that, sue her small claims court for the value of the stuff she took. Get a written statement from the cop who lives across the road as to what he saw to support your case.
