Does PILL72 cause very early periods? Is it effective?
    Hi,

I had my periods from july23-26.
Then I had unprotected sex with my friend on 28th July. He ejaculated but I think not inside me.
For precaution I took pill72. But after 3days i.e. on 3rd aug I'm having my periods.
m really worried as periods came in so very early.
Could u answer if there is any problem or not??

    Thanks

By Pill72 are you referring to the morning after pill?

If so, this pill will cause you to have your period early. It is very common. This pill is basically a huge dose of hormones that is supposed to keep the ovary from releasing an egg. If an egg has already been released, the early period will flush out the egg, just like what happens with an actual period. With such a "hormone shock" so to speak, it is normal for you to start a period. As of right now, I wouldn't worry about this. It could take 1-2 months for your period to get back on track. If it does not get back on track, see a doctor about some options to get regular again. :)

I recently took Plan B (same thing different name). I did some research and found out that the earlier it is taken in your menstrual cycle the more likely you are to experience spotting or bleeding that is not necessarily your period.

I ended up having some bleeding for 4-5 days a week after I took the pills. I also took it four days after beginning a new cycle (4 days after my last period) Nauticalstar420 is right things should return to normal fairly soon. The pamphlet I received said that if your cycle does not return to normal the month after taking emergency contraceptive to see your doctor.
