The phrasemongers and windbags, who distort facts, pass off friends as enemies, and enemies as friends are at it again. In the latest round between republican presidential candidates the emphasis was foreign policy and the key target was Senator Barack Obama- seems he stole the thunder last week when he said he would be ready to send troops to Pakistani tribal areas in search of Osama bin Laden.

Senator Romney was quick to attack him saying it was wrong for a candidate to get on TV and say that. Of course he later indicated he was not opposed to the idea if necessary.

However, Mr. Giuliani staged up with his comment… "America should win that battle and winning that battle is to have an Iraq that helps us against the Islamic terrorists."

It appears this latest crop of republicans can only draw water from sewers and drainpipes.

We're living in the post-MTV generation, Dark Crow. Every candidate is looking for that sound byte that will knock them to the top and for the one soundbyte from their opponents that they can use to knock the other guy down to the bottom.

Reagan did it well. He had some of the best one-liners in political history, and those made great sound-bytes that people remembered long past election day. Ever since Reagan, politicians have looked for the magic sound-byte.

Barrack tried for his magic sound-byte during the debate when he said he would meet with the rogue leaders that Bush has rightly refused to meet with. It backfired on him, and he's been trying to backpedal away from that sound-byte ever since, with poor results. His opponents, like Romney, Rudy and Hillary, have attempted to use that sound-byte against him.

That's politics in the 21st century... politics in the information age. Eveything you say can and will be used against you in the court of public opinion.
